Additionally, the Patient Booklet will provide you with a physiologic understanding of the purpose of pain itself, and why you are feeling what your feeling! Moreover, you will also see our goals of treatment, and what we intend on accomplishing with you as our patient! Please note: that all first-time appointments made will require your credit card information (we will not charge card), so as to hold your appointment time and act as a guarantee of "good faith" in proceeding with care. Brief Paperwork

Upon entering our office, we have some brief paperwork for you to fill out--don't worry it is painless! The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition. This will take approximately 15 minutes. Also, we will make a copy of your insurance card and drivers license.

Consultation

Once the paperwork has been completed, you will have a comprehensive medical consultation with Dr. Kennedy to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options. With the history and examination, this will take approximately 30-45 minutes.

History and Examination

In order to determine what your actual problem is, Dr. Kennedy will ask you various questions related to your condition. Next, a number of specialized tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent.

X-ray Studies / MRI or Special Diagnostic Testing

Your specific condition may require us to take x-rays/ or special studies to either rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. If this is the case, we prescribe and refer these services to South Coast Medical Group (our affiliated integrated health partner) and LagunaNiguel MRI.

Same Day Treatment

Once finished with the examination and all appropriate studies, patients will be provided with their first treatment during this same visit, however, some patient's may require a special report of findings with Dr. Kennedy which would take place on a separate day. This may include spinal adjustments, acupuncture, dispensing of herbal/nutritional remedies, physical therapies, and/or soft tissue therapies.

Home Instructions

Prior to leaving, patients will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches.

Schedule Your Next Appointment

You will be given a convenient appointment time for your follow-up visit and/or calendar for your treatment plan. Generally speaking, patients are seen within 1-2 days and are provided with a complete review of findings. Treatment options for your condition will also be discussed during this time. Subsequent follow visits will last approximately 30-45 minutes.
